Quarter Half Full Dome Mirrors

The fraction describes how much of a sphere the mirror covers and therefore the viewing angle. A quarter dome suits a 90-degree corner where two aisles meet a wall. A half dome covers a T-junction or three directions. A full dome gives 360-degree vision for a four-way intersection or an open central point in a warehouse.

Mount full dome mirrors above four-way aisle intersections where forklifts and pedestrians converge from all sides. Fix them to the ceiling at the crossing point, typically 2.5 to 3 metres high, angled so drivers see all four approaches. For blind wall corners use quarter domes instead, since a full dome there wastes half its field of view.

Larger diameters give wider coverage but a smaller image, so match size to viewing distance. As a guide, 600mm domes suit compact indoor aisles up to about 5 metres, 800mm covers medium warehouse intersections, and 1000mm or larger suits high-ceiling or long sightline areas. Full and half dome mirrors are primarily designed for indoor industrial use such as warehouses, factories and parking structures where lighting is controlled.
