Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions buyers and EHS teams ask most about dupont chemical garments. Need bulk pricing or a specific spec? Contact our team.

What is the difference between DuPont Tyvek and Tychem garments?

Tyvek offers Type 5 and 6 protection against dry particulates and light liquid splash, ideal for dust, asbestos and general handling. Tychem provides stronger chemical barriers, with lines rated to Type 3 and 4 and some Type 1, for hazardous liquids and aggressive chemicals. Choose Tyvek for particulates and Tychem for liquid chemical exposure. We can advise the right DuPont line for your process.

How do I select the right DuPont suit type for a chemical?

Match the garment to exposure form and chemical: Type 5 and 6 Tyvek for particulates and splash, Type 4 Tychem for spray, Type 3 for pressurised liquid jets and Type 1 for gas-tight needs. Always check the fabric permeation data for your specific chemical and concentration. Share the chemical name and task and we will recommend the correct DuPont model.

Are DuPont chemical coveralls single-use or reusable?

Most Tyvek and many Tychem suits are limited-use garments, meant to be discarded after contamination or a shift, not laundered. Some heavier Tychem models are reusable and decontaminated per DuPont guidance. Never reuse a suit exposed to a permeating hazard. Confirm the specific model's reuse policy. We supply DuPont coveralls in case quantities for regular replacement.

Can DuPont Tyvek and Tychem suits be bought in bulk with sizing?

Yes, we supply DuPont Tyvek and Tychem garments in bulk to Indian industrial buyers, across a full size range. Provide the model, type rating and headcount by size for a quote. Bulk buyers may request permeation data, type conformity and certification documents. Case-quantity ordering suits sites that consume single-use coveralls regularly in pharma, chemical and cleanroom work.
